Role of BACB Certification

BACB certification includes credentials provided by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1998 to support professional standards in behavior analysis. BACB works on giving three types of certifications, namely BCBA, BCaBA, and Registered Behavior Technician, each with special qualifications in the field of education, experience, and passing an examination. BACB certification is important to applied behavior analysis practitioners in that it ascertains that such practitioners have acquired the necessary knowledge and skill for them to efficiently deliver services. Many times, BACB certification, with its source being financing sources and licensing boards, has become imperative to a career in the area of behavior analysis.
